Camelbak Fourteener 100-ounce Hydration Pack

Camelbak was the first to make hands free drinking backpacks that were focused more so towards mountain bikers and motocross bikers.  The accessibility to drink while still stay on course was something new, and the idea quickly spread to other sports.  Now Camelbak is the top seller in hands-free hydration systems, making backpacks for hiking, running, skiing, and snowboarding.

The Camelbak Fourteener 100oz backpack comes in two colors, red or yellow.  This pack is unisex so anyone can enjoy the comfort and versatility of it.  The backpack features a 100 ounce bladder which easily stores in its own pocket.  The pocket that the bladder sits in is insulated which will keep your water or other beverage cold for long periods of time.  The bladder can hold 100oz or 3 liters, and comes backed with a lifetime warranty. This backpack comes complete with a Big Bite Valve and hydroguard anti-microbial technology for the bladder.  Besides the pocket for the bladder, there is one large compartment along with two exterior pockets.  The large compartment is big enough to store all the gear you will need for a 1-day trek while the smaller pockets include a fleece-lined sunglasses/MP3 players along with tool loop and lash point for attaching other gear you may need. The backpack overall has many pockets and places to store things which offers a lot of flexibility.  The shoulder straps are padded along with the back of the backpack for even added comfort.  This backpack comes with a sternum buckle and a buckle near the hip which evenly distributes the weight you are carrying and allows for maximum comfort.   Since this pack comes with large pads on the back of the pack, air ventilation is constant between your back and the backpack keeping you cooler  than any other backpack.  Each shoulder strap comes with a loop that you can easily attach a compass, watch, or other tool  you may need while hiking.  The zippers are covered when full zipped, to allow maximum protection from the elements.  This backpack easily adjusts to fit and body form or size, and can be worn either  tightly or loosely depending on the person.  The maximum weight it can handle is approximately 25 pounds, which is more than enough for a hike or a day out.

Asolo Fugitive GTX Hiking Boots

Asolo makes a great pair of hiking boots, known as the Fugitives.  Fugitives are the lightest boots you can get, that still have great support and comfort.  The boots come complete with Gore-Tex lining, which makes the boots superior to water.  No matter how much water your in, your feet will stay dry!  The soul purpose of these boots is for long-distance hiking for those that want a lightweight boot.  I have been using these boots for 2 weeks now, and they are great.  With each time I use them, they feel better and better.  The lacing system on the boots reduces heel lift, allowing for an easier hike.  I have, and will be using these boots for many trips to come.  They have gone everywhere with me, and withstood it all.  I can not recommend them enough, if you want a light-weight, sporty, pair of hiking boots, the Asolo Fugitive's are what your looking for.

Garmin etrex Vista C
Originally released in 2004, the Garmin etrex Vista C is still a premiere GPSr unit to use for geocaching.  The Vista C is extremely easy to use and user friendly.  This GPSr comes complete with off-route recalculation, turn by turn directions, WAAS-enabled, barometric altimeter, and an electronic compass.  All these functions are great and easily work.  If you want a low cost GPSr but still have other options and uses, you can't go wrong with the etrex Vista C.  Not only does this GPSr come complete with all the functions listed above, it is also water and impact resistant.  This is a great feature of the Vista C, making it virtually indestructible.  The screen display is in full color.  Two AA batteries are needed to run the GPSr, and it can last up to twenty hours.  You can easily connect it to your computer using any USB cable, and download coordinates directly from Geocaching.com onto your etrex Vista C.  This makes adding new coordinates for your next cache extremely easy.  The GPSr is accurate within 10 meters when using the WAAS and 15 meters when using normal GPS mode.  Because of the button layout, you can control options and easily scroll through each interface with one hand.
Overall the Garmin etrex Vista C is an excellent GPSr and one of the best for geocaching.
